Utah County Attorney’s Office Does Not Anticipate Filing Additional Criminal Charges Against former Doctor David Broadbent

The Utah County Attorney’s Office has filed eight criminal cases against former Provo doctor David Broadbent. One of those cases is scheduled for trial to begin in September 2027.

After carefully considering the charges now filed and the resources the County Attorney’s Office and the courts can allocate to this matter, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray has concluded that he likely will not file additional criminal charges against Mr. Broadbent.

The mission of the Utah County Attorney’s Office is to protect Utah County by vigorously investigating and prosecuting crime and compassionately assisting crime victims. Mr. Gray has concluded that proceeding with the eight currently filed cases is the best way to fulfill this mission.

Although the County Attorney’s Office has charged Mr. Broadbent with various crimes, those charges are only unproven allegations. Mr. Broadbent is presumed innocent until an impartial jury determines that the State has proven him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
